Rules per file type
Allowed, Needs approval or Blocked, with exceptions for single spaces.
Jira Cloud accepts any file. REGULIT decides which file types stay, which wait for approval and which are removed, for the whole site and per space. Built by MESKRU, from what we see in our Jira projects every day.
Allowed, Needs approval or Blocked, with exceptions for single spaces.
Held files sit in your own S3, Google Cloud or Azure bucket, not with us.
A comment on the work item and a log entry for every decision.
Jira Cloud cannot restrict attachments to allowed file types on its own. Atlassian closed the request for it (JRACLOUD-61024) as Won't Fix in 2024. REGULIT closes that gap.
REGULIT checks every attachment right after upload. Files that are not allowed are removed from the work item, a comment explains why, and a log records file, type, rule, person and time. Files that need approval wait in your own storage until someone approves them. No data leaves your cloud.
Optionally, REGULIT also compares the first bytes of a file with its extension and type. That catches renamed files, such as an .exe uploaded as a .pdf. In the Jira Service Management customer portal, a banner shows which file types are allowed.
REGULIT is a Forge app for Jira Cloud and Jira Service Management. Data Center and Server are not supported.
